About Jenni B

45 Years of Horses.
A Lifetime of Stories.

I was 10 years old when I was put on a pony for the first time. He figured out quickly I had no idea what I was doing and bolted straight back to the stables. As I was hanging onto the saddle, I had the biggest smile on my face—I had found where I belonged. That single moment started a 45-year journey with horses that would shape my world.

A Lifetime Spent with Horses

Since 10 years old horses were always part of my life, a constant. Every afternoon of my childhood was spent at the stables. Every spare minute, every weekend, every holiday. I wasn’t learning to ride; I was living it.

After school, having spent a few years riding thoroughbreds, I was lucky enough to find a job with horses in England. I rode eight horses a day, went showjumping three days a week, and learned more in those years than I could have imagined. It was an extraordinary education — from the saddle, from the yard, from the horses themselves.

On my return home, I used that experience to start breeding warmbloods — and that became my world for the next 25 years. So many beautiful foals, each one raised with care and love, backed with patience, and placed with the perfect owner where they could truly excel. Through those years I was also lucky enough to own some very special horses of my own, building the stud one extraordinary animal at a time.

25 Years of Breeding Warmbloods

For 25 years I bred warmbloods, welcomed countless foals into the world, and helped horse owners navigate the complexities of care and training. It was a time of extraordinary horses.

There was Bohemian Rhapsody, my dream horse bred using frozen semen from an Olympic stallion. There was Waldemar, the first coloured stallion brought into South Africa, and Senergy, an imported Hanoverian with exceptional dressage bloodlines. I backed and schooled young horses, managed stallions, and learned through hands-on experience what no textbook can quite teach you.

Technology, Art, and a Life Built Around Horses

When finishing school I chose technology over art school because it guaranteed an income that could support my horses — and for years I coded by day and rode by evening. Technology ran through my breeding years too: I used it to manage pedigrees, research bloodlines and track breeding records, they became essential to the management of a very busy stud farm.

A few years ago, during a tough time in my life — I started drawing again. Line by line, the animals I knew so well began to appear. Drawing became my meditation. Now, combining a lifetime of horse knowledge with my technical background and my art, I create practical guides, digital downloads, ebooks, and custom portraits — everything built and designed by me, from the code to the brushstroke.

What I Create Now

Everything on this site comes from the same place — a lifetime spent with horses, a career in technology, and a deep love of art. Those three things are not separate. They are my story.

Custom art commissions. I create hand-drawn portraits of horses, and all animals for people who understand that special bond. Every portrait captures not just what your animal looks like, but what you see when you look at them — that spark of personality, that moment of trust.

Practical horse knowledge. 45 years of experience, 25 years of breeding warmbloods, and a career spent writing and researching means I can share what actually works — not textbook theory. Free guides, checklists, in-depth articles and ebooks written from real experience.

Digital products. From free downloadable checklists to full ebooks, I design and build everything myself — combining my technical background with my knowledge of horses to create resources that are genuinely useful.
